The manufacturer’s website does not provide accuracy specifications, but the meter has been approved by the FDA and online user comments indicate the readings this meter provides agree with the more expensive pulse oximeters found in doctor’s offices and hospitals.

The meter incorporates a large display facing away from the user, which may or may not be inconvenient, and provides SpO2, pulse rate, pulse strength readings, and a low battery indicator. Contrary to the manufacturer’s claims several online comments suggest the display is not easy to read in bright light, which would limit its usefulness outdoors for example.

A common complaint with finger pulse oximeters is that movement can prevent accurate readings and user comments suggest this meter is no exception, which puts more restrictions
on its outdoor by athletes and outdoor enthusiasts to periods of inactivity.

With the push of a button the meter can be turned on and when set aside the meter will automatically turn off after 8 seconds of disuse. The meter is powered by two AAA batteries that provides up to 30 hours of operation, and is sold with a canvas case and lanyard to provide options for transporting and storing the meter when not in use.

By SHJ… I bought this for my father who has pulmonary silicosis and has resisted oxygen therapy for years despite his low SpO2. Because my parents really enjoy summers in the mountains away from the desert heat, they were unable to enjoy their retreat due to his worsening condition. Now that he is on oxygen, the pulse oximeter gives him feedback on how the low oxygen tension at higher altitudes contributes to his malaise and allows mim to make needed adjustments in activity or oxygen flow. He is doing better and enjoying the mountains a little better. This technology has been very easy for my parents to use. They have become experts in the oxygen management and their quality of life may be a little better.

By Betty… We are very satisfied with this product. Since using your product, we have found by the readings that my husband doesn’t need to use the oxygen as much as was ordered at first. He now uses only at night and his oxygen levels are staying up in the normal range. He hated carrying around the portable tank and now he doesn’t have to.

Whatever disadvantages this meter may have they are outweighed by the accuracy, well-engineered design, and reasonable price, which explains the more than generous 2 year manufacturer’s warranty that is provided. For customers that need a reasonably priced, reliable, accurate and easy to use finger pulse oximeter, for primarily indoor use, this meter should
find a spot at the top of their shopping list.
